Looks like someone was expecting a different outcome… wonder how she’ll take it?

Whoa. If someone with excellent aim but no trigger discipline is among their best warriors ever, these people are doomed. It does seem pretty consistent, though, going by the intro sequence and the way the instructor reacted to a drowning student. I wonder if there’s an in-universe explanation for why these people are such utter garbage at troop coordination?
(In all fairness, I quite like the Attack on Titan vibe of the training ground – it seems like reasonably good physical training. And it’s been genuinely fun to count deathflags.)
On another note, I wonder if there’s a course on underwater combat. I assume the mermaids are fast enough to make that a last resort at best, but something about “if you’re grappled, this is how to hopefully make it a mutual kill” would be neat.
(That was probably a little harsh. They are kind of exceptionally terrible at “watch each others’ backs”, but garbage isn’t a kind way to say it.)
That attitude is likely why she didn’t get what she wanted.
